Our commission at King Oaks Fellowship is summarized as follows: “And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age'” (Matthew 28:18-20).
Our purpose is to magnify the Person, work, and mission of the Lord Jesus Christ; to promote the worship of the Triune God in regular, public services; to proclaim the gospel message of salvation by word and deed; to build up the believers in the “most holy faith” (Jude 20); to administer the two ordinances of the New Testament (believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper); to provide Christian fellowship; to promote an active missionary program at home and abroad through Biblical ministry and the establishment of local churches; and to “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” (Jude 3).
To renew lives through Scripture, Prayer, Worship, and Love.
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called oaks of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
